Yes :) but it involved a little hacking.

I needed even more than 2 columns - literal html (well, ok, html which was generated by the foswiki renderer.

I only started to user mb.Menu (and add to foswiki) a few days ago, so I don't know the best way to send a patch / make a feature request, so I'll put the diff on my blog first.
